Golf Batteries Direct Limited was formed in April 2005 after keen golfer and battery salesman Mark Baker was asked to supply members at his local Dorset golf club with batteries for electric trolleys.
What started as a side line to his battery sales job quickly snowballed into a business and in April 2005 Golf Batteries Direct Limited was formed.
Mark and wife Kelly looked at the golf industry and after speaking to a number of golf professionals and club members found that there was a great demand for replacement batteries for electric golf trolleys.
In November 2005, Mark’s father Mervyn, took early retirement to run the sales side of Golf Batteries Direct Limited. He has over 35 years managerial experience with one of the leading superstores in the UK and he is able to offer the Golf Batteries Direct Limited a wealth of qualities that he has collected from this experience.
In March 2006 Golf Batteries Direct Limited appointed sales agent Chris Howell to supply the golfing trade with batteries. Chris has a wealth of experience with Ben Sayers and Proquip and he has been selling products into the golf industry for over 10 years. With Mark’s experience in the Battery industry and Chris’s history in the golf industry Golf Batteries Direct Limited are a formidable force and are quickly becoming the number 1 aftermarket battery supplier in the UK.
In october 2006 Golf Batteries Direct Ltd moved into new premises at Yeovil, Somerset creating a one stop battery shop offering batteries for all markets from Automotive to Specialist equipment. After this move Mark is pleased to welcome the arrival of Branch Manager Andy Holloway, who has over 25 years experience in the battery industry. Andy is qualified in Many aspects of the battery industry and is available for technical and a wealth of other battery information.
His arrival has helped Golf Batteries Direct Ltd move to another level and we are now a leading battery supplier in all areas.
